Unique Museum copy of Virgin of Poland the Black Virgin.Probably it comes from Byzantian Greece and is ascribed to Saint Luke the Evangelist. The icon is found in Poland since 1382 A.D. The icon belongs to the iconograthic type of the àƒÆ’Â’¢àƒ’¢â€Å¡Â’¬àƒ…â€Å“HodegetriaàƒÆ’Â’¢àƒ’¢â€Å¡Â’¬àƒâ€šÂ’and symbolizes the Virgin of Victory and of Glory. The icon is covered with a silver cover with precious stones on it. The painting is in egg tempera on wood and the icon was found at the Monastery of Jasna Gora of Czestochowa in Poland. .
