The Exapterigo is made of various brass fittings. The cross is cast on bronze and the depiction of Crucifixion is embossed. On crosses there are colorful enamels and 8 rosettes of enamels on the edges of the cross. At the bottom it has a special handle to be placed on a base on the Agia Bank, or on a pole for their walk.
During the Divine Liturgy the exapteriga are used to accompany the Holy Gifts during the Great Entrance and the Gospel Book when brought out for the Gospel reading.
